Recipes Return from the Dead..

The Dead Celebrity Cookbook

– It’s Like Having Hollywood’s Greatest Movie Stars
At Your Own Halloween Bash

NEW YORK, NY - October 31, 2012 - For anyone who loves Hollywood memorabilia, is an entertainment junkie, and loves to eat and cook – they will treasure Frank DeCaro’s The Dead Celebrity Cookbook: A Resurrection of Recipes from More Than 145 Stars of Stage and Screen (HCI Books). Frank compiled favorite recipes from some of Hollywood’s biggest names; including Lucille Ball, Elizabeth Taylor, Sonny Bono, Liberace, Michael Jackson, John Denver, Frank Sinatra, Rock Hudson, Humphrey Bogart, and Peter Falk, just to name a few.

“While Halloween might come only once a year, there’s never a bad time for The Dead Celebrity Cookbook.” –

“Flip on a movie channel and get cooking! Required reading.” – Billy Heller, New York Post.

“We hear Rock Hudson’s Cannoli is delicious!” – Entertainment Weekly.

“In The Dead Celebrity Cookbook, author Frank DeCaro has collected and presented an array of recipes by beloved (and dead) stars….” –

“Celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor and Andy Warhol may be gone, but their favorite dishes will never be forgotten. Try one tonight!” –

“A veritable who’s who of Hollywood’s Golden Age.” – Sara Bonisteel,

“The book marries DeCaro’s twin obsessions with movie/celebrity/pop culture and food. The recipes reflect a happier time when carbs, mayo and butter were still considered friendlies…” – Elena Ferretti,

"If there's someone on your holiday gift-giving list who has about as much affection for new Hollywood as they do Nouvelle Cuisine, then they can have their (Lucille Ball's Persimmon) Cake and eat it too, thanks to The Dead Celebrity Cookbook." —Michael Rechtshaffen, Syndicated Columnist

“Chow down on your favorite dead stars’ recipes. Come on, it won’t kill you!” – Michael Musto, The Village Voice

Inspired by a “Dead Celebrity Party” during his college years, DeCaro thought the one thing missing from the event was the food of the dead. Since then, he’s been collecting recipes of the stars and lucky for us, he’s put them together in, THE DEAD CELEBRITY COOKBOOK: A Resurrection of Recipes from More Than 145 Stars of Stage and Screen (HCI Books).

DeCaro, who is best known for his nearly 7-year stint as the movie critic on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and now heard weekdays on his own call-in radio show, gives us a giggle while feeding us treats from Tinsel Town like: Liberace’s Sticky Buns, Mae West’s Fruit Compote, John Ritter’s Favorite Fudge and Bea Arthur’s Vegetarian Breakfast.

THE DEAD CELEBRITY COOKBOOK is here to remind you that before there were celebrity chefs, there were celebrities who fancied themselves as chefs. They were whipping up culinary delights, and sometimes sharing them with us on shows like Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas or even Johnny Carson. DeCaro gives us some entertaining and informative commentary before each section of recipes in chapters that include: “Talk Show Chow,” “An All-Night Oscar Buff,” and “I Lunch Lucy,” a whole section dedicated to the red-haired TV goddess.

Says DeCaro, “I miss those days when celebrities still had mystery about them, and a glimpse inside their radar ranges seemed, for any fan, like a window into the world of glamour and excitement, which is why I put together this book.” This book delivers recipes that the stars are dying for you to make.

Following on the success of The Dead Celebrity Cookbook, Frank’s next book to be released in time for Christmas promises to be an even bigger hit! Written in his infamous style of humor and sarcasm, Christmas In Tinseltown: Celebrity Recipes and Hollywood Memories from Six Feet Under the Mistletoe will give readers a unique and fun opportunity to make new traditions in the kitchen with this fascinating and hilarious addition to their Holidays.

Red Sea Media Releases Poster for
The Singaporean Sexual Thriller

LOS ANGELES, CA - October 29, 2012 - Red Sea Media released the poster art for its upcoming sexual thriller/horror, ‘Hotel De Sade.’ The film centers around a man named Zhang Li, who is dismantled after believing that he killed his daughter instead of saving her from kidnappers. He finds himself lured to China seeking solace in pain and blood at Paradise Hotel, where every carnal and beastly desire is satiated. With a savage boss, the terrifying Burnt Man at the helm of the underground brothel, no perversion is turned away. With a sudden revelation while at the brothel, Zhang Li must confront his worst fear to bring order back to his life.

Director Oman Dhas speaks on the film, “Hotel De Sade is a film with many deeply penetrating layers. Through a revenge plot, it explores the concept of evil, how it begins, grows, and overwhelms an average man. The idea comes from a simple, even noble, notion of the extremes that an honest man would go to in order to avenge an innocent person.”

I Like Horror Movies is Dead

That's right, folks! I Like Horror Movies founder Carl Manes has joined the ranks of the undead after a grueling struggle at Run for Your Lives, where the last of the living battle for survival over a 5K obstacle course filled with dead-ends, pitfalls, open electricity, and up to four feet of mud... Oh, and did we mention the zombies?! If the initial run up the side of a mountain doesn't kill you, the packs of flesh-eating ghouls that await surely will. Each combatant is left completely unarmed, save for three flags or “Health Packs.” Lose your health packs, and you join the legions of the undead. Make it through the course unscathed, and you live to see another day!

Run for Your Lives completed its stop at Vale Lake in Southern California, where hundreds of runners walked away muddied and bloodied from the two-day event that spanned through October 20-21. A treacherous walk through the woods opened up to the Vale Lake recreational park, which was filled with participants who were eagerly awaiting their fate while enjoying the live music, food, and fun! That all changed as the day began heating up, with new heats taking off from the starting lines every 30-minutes! Fox Home Entertainment was also on site promoting the new release of WRONG TURN 5, a fitting title for the event.

The track begins with a grudging uphill jog that few could have anticipated. As if the terrain were not difficult enough, the twisted trails led many unsuspecting victims astray, costing them valuable time and energy before entering the "Danger Zones." These zombie-infested death traps may look easy to overcome, but stray from the group and even a few walkers can overwhelm a single runner! Even if you make it through the mountain pass alive, the struggle for survival has only just begun. Next, you must face off against the living dead through a series of treacherous obstacles, including muddy swamps, mazes, abandoned buildings, and worse! Feel your way through the fog, but beware the open wires and electric fences... The final stretch of the course seems easy enough as you glide downhill, but between the mud-soaked clothing, ravenous hordes, and desperate combatants that will do anything to protect their remaining flags, the last quarter mile will mean the end for most runners.

In spite of months of training, the ILHM team fell victim to the overwhelming odds, and turned just after the half-way point. Since the virus is slow-acting, we still managed to complete the race without transforming fully, with ILHM Editor Carl Manes arriving first at the finish line for the 3:30 heat! Just 357 days of training left until next year's event in Southern California, but you can be sure to test your survival instincts as Run for Your Lives comes to a city near you on its cross-country tour! Check out the race at the link below, and read on for our images from the race!

'Lightning Bug' Shines on to Blu-ray

The Coming of Age Cult-Classic
Extended Cut Arrives on Blu-ray
Care of Image Entertainment

LOS ANGELES, CA - October 29, 2012 - After wowing genre and mainstream audiences and fans during its initial DVD release, Image Entertainment will release Lightning Bug for the very first time on Blu-ray January 15th, which will also include an all-new, never-before-seen Extended Cut. The award-winning independent film stars Bret Harrison (“Reaper,” “Grounded For Life,” “The O.C.”), Laura Prepon (“That 70’s Show”) and a skillful supporting cast in a coming-of-age story set against an ultra-conservative and often bizarre hamlet in the rural South. Lightning Bug will be available for the SRP of $17.97. Pre-book is December 18th.

The screenwriting and directorial debut of award-winning special makeup effects wizard Robert Hall (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” Pineapple Express, Quarantine, Superbad), Lighting Bug launched a career that eventually spawned the creation of horror icon “ChromeSkull” in Hall’s Laid To Rest and ChromeSkull: Laid To Rest 2.

Lightning Bug is a nostalgic journey through the budding aspirations and sobering realities of youth, as told semi-autobiographically by writer/director Hall. Bret Harrison stars as Green Graves, a young Alabama man desperate to escape the stifling grip of his rural confines. In a Bible-Belt town chock full of misfits, Green finds escape and solace in his longing to create special effects creatures in Hollywood. Despite finding a kindred spirit in a local girl with a sordid past, Green soon learns that sometimes the most frightening monsters aren’t always made of rubber and latex.

The film co-stars Laura Prepon as Angevin Duvet, his love interest and a girl with demons of her own. The film features a stellar supporting cast including genre favorite Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser), Kevin Gage (Heat), Hal Sparks (“Queer as Folk”) and Josh Todd (frontman for Buckcherry).

Bonus features on the Lightning Bug Blu-ray include an Extended Cut Version of the film (Additional 15 mins.), brand new featurette Afterglow: A Look Back at Lightning Bug, Lucifern: The Making of Lightning Bug featurette, audio commentary with Writer/Director Robert Hall and cast, deleted scenes, and more.

The Craft (1996)

Unsuspecting Sarah becomes entwined in a coven of young witches after enrolling in her new prep school, but the otherworldly gifts that are bestowed upon them quickly turn to ruin when they decide to abuse their powers. THE CRAFT is every misunderstood teenage girl's wet dream, combining the high school revenge plot from CARRIE with the Goth fetish of 1990's youth culture. Andrew Fleming and writer Peter Filardi do a great job fictionalizes the fantasy that witchcraft and spell casting represent to many young believers, while giving outcasts a satisfying sense of retribution against the bullies in the film. Surprisingly, however, THE CRAFT also packs a powerful message by attempting to show that two wrongs never make a right, and that no crime goes unpunished. Teen idols Neve Campbell and Robin Tunney headline the cast along with Fairuza Balk and Rachel True to complete the circle, with a pre-SCREAM Skeet Ulrich making an appearance as well. Travel back to 1996, and teens could find no better source of edgy entertainment than THE CRAFT!

Back From Hell (2011)

A quiet vacation away to a remote country estate soon spells disaster for six friends, who awaken the demons that have been locked away beneath the hallowed grounds before succumbing to their ancient evil. BACK FROM HELL takes us on a first-hand journey to hell using the popular "found-footage" technique, but with far less success than films like [REC] and THE LAST EXORCISM. Between the awful audio and atrocious accents, it is impossible to understand much of what is being said, not that the cliched dialog that does make it through is even worth listening for. BACK FROM HELL is disastrously boring from start to finish, packing minimal shocks and very little terror in any of the events occurring on screen. A surefire way to drive audiences away from the characters is to have them squabble and fight from the very beginning, making their struggle for survival both empty and emotionless. Any sane person would have stopped filming as soon as their friends start becoming possessed and mutilated, let alone the fact that the camera is left rolling overnight on several occasions for no apparent reason at all. These things and more force us to constantly call into question the choice in style, which is the last thing the audience should be focusing on. BACK FROM HELL is an extremely amateur effort that never rises above any of its contemporaries.

Snowmageddon (2011)

Normal Alaska is in for one hell of a winter when a cursed snow globe begins dictating the horrendous weather conditions that threaten to rip the small town apart in SNOWMAGEDDON! Natural disasters haven't been this boring since the last SyFy Channel original, or as deadly. SNOWMAGEDDON sees people stabbed to death by explosive ice shards and blown up in many horrible ways before the whole ordeal comes to an end, but that isn't nearly as exciting as it may sound. There is more insufferable down time in between these scenes of destruction than most can bear. Rather than have the damage result from some human trespass against nature, SNOWMAGEDDON goes a much different route than most other films of its kind and molds the tale after the story of Pandora's box from Greek mythology. This is as original as it is confusing and utterly pointless, when most are just tuning in to watch the people dying as things explode on screen. Both the special effects and acting are adequate for the budget. ICE TWISTERS fans had better prepare for another deadly winter!

Rating: 5/10.

Get a Sneak Peak at the New 'Doc of the Dead'

DENVER, CO – October 24, 2012 – THEY’RE YOU. THEY’RE US. THEY’RE EVERYWHERE…THEY’RE ALL MESSED UP…THEY’RE DEAD. DOC OF THE DEAD is the definitive Zombie culture documentary, and speculative chronicle of the Zombie Apocalypse. The film features appearances by Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) and the Grandfather of Zombie-dom, George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead). Others planned for the film include author Max Brooks (World War Z, soon to be a major motion picture starring Brad Pitt), Greg Nicotero (Executive Producer and make-up FX “The Walking Dead”), Charlie Adlard (Artist, “The Walking Dead”), Mick Garris (Stephen King's “The Shining,” and “The Stand”), Steve Barton (Dread Central), Alan Jones (Frightfest), and many more!

The Zombie Apocalypse seems to be on everybody's lips these days. Should we categorize it as fiction, dismiss it as far-fetched paranoia, or speculate about it as a plausible scenario? Doc of the Dead is brought to the screen by the creators of the groundbreaking, participatory and award-winning The People Vs. George Lucas - Director Alexandre O. Philippe, Director of Photography/Producer Robert Muratore and Producer Kerry Deignan Roy. It’s co-hosted by Geekscape’s own Jonathan London and Red Letter Media’s infamous Mr. Plinkett (The Phantom Menace review), who will be sitting in his basement, far away from all the chaos.

Doc of the Dead delves deep into the myriad crevasses of Zombie culture to deliver the first-ever, in-depth look at a contemporary social pandemic of global proportions. Shot and edited in a cinematically edgy, high-octane style, it will host a rich and entertaining dialogue with Zombie experts and celebrities, seek participation from YouTubers and indie filmmakers, and examine viral cultural trends to explore the possibility and ramifications of an actual zombie outbreak with sociologists, virologists, chemists, and members of the Zombie Research Society.

In short, this is the film that zombie fans across the globe have been secretly waiting for; and because reality is scarier than fiction, prepare to be utterly and positively FREAKED OUT! And remember – always aim for the head.

Doc of the Dead is written and directed by Alexandre O. Philippe, and produced by DoP Robert Muratore, and Kerry Deignan Roy.

They Live (1988)

One man attempts to overthrow an alien plot to enslave humanity after finding a pair of sunglasses that reveal their sinister designs in John Carpenter's THEY LIVE! Rowdy Roddy Piper proves that you can take the wrestler out of the ring, but you can't take the ring out of the wrestler in this 1980's cult-classic. His is one of many silly performances found in THEY LIVE, along with the consistently bad fight choreography and cheesy one-liners that only add to the film's overall charm. If there's one thing fan's know, it's that Piper has "come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and [he's] all out of bubblegum." John Carpenter brings the eerie dystopian future of Ray Nelson's short "Eight O'Clock in the Morning" to life using a frequent shift from color to black and white as Nada (Piper) puts on his specially-designed sunglasses. Suddenly, the billboards and signposts are exposed to reveal the aliens' subliminal mind-control devices that command their human cattle to "OBEY" and "CONSUME." In this way, THEY LIVE is a perfect reflection of the consumerist culture found under the Reagan era, with social and political implications that also recall INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS from both 1956 and 1978. Although THEY LIVE has a much lesser impact than the aforementioned films, the dark comedic undertones make it easily-digestible and light-hearted.

Hudson Horror Show 666 Returns This December!

The Hudson Horror Show Returns!

Featuring 6 Frightening Feature Films
And Plenty of Ghoulish Fun

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - October 22, 2012 - On Saturday, December 1st, 2012 (12-1-12), Hudson Horror Show 666 will present a whopping six movies (for the price of five) along with shorts and vintage trailers, all off rare 35mm films. It’s a massive, sweaty 12 hour explosion of horror and exploitation!

This is by the far the biggest and most diverse lineup of movies we have ever presented. The show starts and heaven will be torn asunder as you run from, THE DEVIL’S RAIN! Starring Ernest Borgnine, William Shatner, Tom Skerrit, and an appearance by John Travolta, this is the coolest of the Satan Chic classics from the 70’s.

One of the greatest exploitation movies of all time, SWITCHBLADE SISTERS, tells the story of the Dagger Debs, the tough as nails girl gang whose members were hot as hell. Quentin Tarantino loves this movie, but hasn’t quite stolen from it yet!

Not many sequels can equal their predecessors, but PHANTASM II is one of the few. With more action, more midgets, and well, more balls, Phantasm II shatters the myth that all sequels suck.

There are no midgets in RE-ANIMATOR, but director Stuart Gordon’s unrated bloodbath has just about everything else. Mad scientists, zombies, talking heads and the most insane oral sex scene ever committed to celluloid, this film is cinematic proof that Jeffrey Combs got robbed of a best actor Oscar in 1985.

Sound the trumpets of Crom, after 30 years; the original CONAN THE BARBARIAN makes it triumphant return to the big screen! Forget the boring, anemic remake; Arnold Schwarzenegger’s breakout film delivers more blood, blades and boobs than most vintage slasher films.

Speaking of slasher films, what’s a Hudson Horror Show without one? Have no fear as our mystery movie is now revealed to be the original BLACK CHRISTMAS. Again, screw the remake; this is the original yuletide horror classic from 1974, which many claim to be the very first true slasher film. And any movie starring John Saxon just kicks major ass!

Be sure to bring extra cash as we will have vendors selling more wares than ever before. Comic books, movie posters, super cool magnets, rare DVD’s, t-shirts, artwork and more will up for grabs at HH666. Horror author Jason Gehlert will even be in attendance signing copies of his brand spanking new book, Jeremiah Black. This book sounds even sicker and more twisted than Jason’s other works, for all of his info go to

Advance tickets are $26.00 in advance at our website, if any day tickets remain, they will be $30.00 at the door day of show, cash only. Doors open at noon, show starts at 1PM and runs until 12AM. One ticket gets you entry in and out all day long.

Malcolm McDowell to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Award To be Presented at the
2nd Annual Halloween Benefit Event on
October 28, 2012 at the Conga Room at L.A. Live

LOS ANGELES, CA - October 22, 2012 - The sCare Foundation announced today it will honor legendary actor Malcolm McDowell (Rob Zombie’s Halloween, A Clockwork Orange) with the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 2nd Annual Halloween Benefit on October 28, 2012. The evening will be held at the Conga Room at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles, and will include great entertainment, a silent auction and plenty of exciting prizes. The evening will benefit the life-saving programs of the Hollywood Homeless Youth Project (, as well as Safety Harbor Kids (

“Malcolm is an amazing actor and true professional,” said sCare Foundation founder, Malek Akkad. “He’s always been an ardent supporter and we’re excited to be able to honor him in this way. Besides being one of our greatest actors, he has always shown unwavering support to our cause, and his generosity and compassion truly appreciated.”

Malcolm McDowell is arguably among the most dynamic and inventive of world-class actors, yet also one capable of immense charm, humor and poignancy. McDowell has created a gallery of iconic characters since catapulting to the screen as Mick Travis, the rebellious upperclassman in Lindsay Anderson's prize-winning sensation, If... His place in movie history was subsequently secured when Stanley Kubrick finally found the actor he was searching for to play the gleefully amoral Alex in A Clockwork Orange; when McDowell himself conceived the idea for Mick Travis' further adventures in Anderson's Candid-like masterpiece, O Lucky Man!; and when he wooed Mary Steenburgen and defeated Jack the Ripper as the romantically inquisitive H.G. Wells in Time After Time. Those legendary roles are among the ones that have endured with legions of filmgoers while new fans have been won over by his tyrannical Soran (the destroyer of Capt. Kirk) in Star Trek: Generations; his Machiavellian Mr. Roarke in "Fantasy Island" and his comically pompous professor Steve Pynchon in the critically hailed CBS television series, "Pearl," starring opposite Rhea Perlman.

McDowell's distinctive motion picture characterizations include: Richard Lester's Royal Flash, Paul Schrader's Cat People, Rachel Talalay's Tank Girl, Joseph Losey's Figures in a Landscape, Bryan Forbes' The Raging Moon and the Chaplinesque studio boss in Blake Edwards' Sunset. His film credits are further highlighted by his compellingly sinister Caligula; the brilliant literary editor Maxwell Perkins in Martin Ritt's Cross Creek; his cameo in Robert Altman's The Player; and his final incarnation of Mick Travis in Britannia Hospital, the third film in Anderson's trilogy marking the disintegration of British culture. McDowell's film work also includes Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius, In Good Company, I Spy, Robert Altman's The Company; Robert Downey Sr.'s Hugo Pool with Sean Penn, Robert Downey Jr. and Cathy Moriarty; Just Visiting, Mr. Magoo, Hugh Hudson's My Life So Far, Blue Thunder, Neil Marshall’s Doomsday in 2007, Rob Zombie’s Halloween I & II, and the voice of villain, Dr. Calico, in Disney’s 2008 box office hit, Bolt. In late 2011, Malcolm was seen in the award winning silent film sensation, The Artist. This year, fans can look forward to his appearance in such upcoming releases as Amy Heckerling’s Vamps with Sigourney Weaver and Alicia Silverstone, Silent Hill Revelation: 3D, Anti-Viral from Brandon Cronenberg, as well as his on-going role as Stanton Infield in the hit TNT series “Franklin & Bash,” which recently was renewed for a third season.

Ghost Hunters: Season 7 Part 2 (2011)

Jay, Grant, and TAPS team return for another chilling set of investigations in the second half of Ghost Hunters: Season 7, featuring thirteen brand-new episodes for the first time on DVD! The team continues to uncover exciting new evidence using a range of controversial new techniques that are sure to stir conversation in both skeptics and believers, alike. Now several seasons in, the television series has streamlined the investigations to provide audiences with more of what they want and less of what they don't, meaning more time spent with the team on location, and less time watching them review their findings before the final reveal. With so many cameras and voice recording devices on hand, the team turns up interesting pieces of evidence in nearly every episode, but four locations in particular make it difficult to dispute the possible existence of paranormal activity:

A stationary camera captures a ghostly full-body apparition at the Reed Homestead in Rhode Island. In Murdered Matron, a strange voice is caught speaking a full sentence in one of buildings surrounding Snug Harbor. Within the walls of the Missouri State Penitentiary, TAPS receives a terrifying warning from one of the cells. Up next, fans voted, and TAPS returns to the Waverly Hills sanitarium, where Jason and Grant capture a conversation between three disembodies persons, while Amy and Adam carry on their own question and answer session with a knocking ghost.

In addition to staple TAPS members like Steve Gonsalvez, Dave Tango, and Amy Bruni, the team is joined by special guests Meredith Vieira and Investigator-in-Training Hailey Hawes, daughter to TAPS co-founder Jason. Maddie, the ghost-hunting dog, also uses her keen senses to hone in on potential spirit activity. Together, the Ghost Hunters of TAPS continue to prove why they are the leading paranormal investigators on television in this seventh season, which is a necessary addition to any fan's collection.

The Thing (2011)

Paleontologist Kate Lloyd is asked to join a Norwegian expedition in the Antarctic after they uncover an ancient alien spacecraft deep beneath the ice, but when one of the shape-shifting creatures awakens from its icy tomb, she will be forced to determine friend from foe in a battle for survival atop the frozen continent. The 2011 prequel to John Carpenter's classic Science Fiction film THE THING is surprisingly well-made, and serves as a valid companion piece to the original film by filling in the events that preceded it. Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. and his team of set designers have taken great care in recreating the Norwegian base camp and following the frightful events just as they had been described in the previous film. The one major disadvantage that anyone would come to expect falls in the special effects department. Rob Bottin's ground-breaking make-up designs have terrified audiences since 1982, but the computerized monstrosities found here lose much of their effect despite their nasty appearances. Although THE THING presents several new twists on the plot points from before, the plagiarized ideas border quite closely to making this a direct remake. Mary Elizabeth Winstead and her supporting cast do maintain the proper amount of fear and paranoia to make this a successful sequel/prequel/remake, whatever it may be.

Rating: 7/10.

'Immortal Kiss' Bites Into DVD

LOS ANGELES, CA - October 17, 2012 - The Queen of the Vampires will rise this fall as 007 Bond Girl, Trina Parks of Diamonds Are Forever, returns to the screen in Immortal Kiss: Queen of the Night. Co-starring Preston Davis of TV’s Entourage, the supernatural thriller will bite into retail outlets and VOD November 6, 2012.

The eccentric Amina (Parks) and her secretive assistant Parnell (Davis) have invited five handsome young men to her secluded mansion with the promise of work. Little do the men know their mistress of the night is actually a vampire seeking a new single consort – and only one will survive to be her chosen prince of darkness.

It has been thirty years since Parks’ last feature film, The Blues Brothers, but it was her turn as “Thumper” in Diamonds Are Forever that made her famous, becoming the first African-American Bond Girl of the 007 franchise. Immortal Kiss director David DeCoteau sought out the professional singer and dancer to lead the all African-American cast. “I’ve been a fan of Trina’s for such a long time,” he says. “She was just stunning in so many of her early roles and she’s remained a beautiful and talented woman. To have her lead our cast has been a wonderful experience. She poured so much energy into her role as Amina, she really makes the film.”

Parks herself says her 007 days continue to affect her life on a regular basis. “I did a musical at the NY State Theater [because] the director was a big James Bond fan,” says the sultry actress. “I also started to tour Europe and the Far East (Japan) as a featured soloist and guest artist. I [was also] the first African-American to open the ‘Chrystle Room’ at the [then] new Otoni Hotel.”

It was upon joining forces with a new agent earlier this year that Parks and DeCoteau were able to connect. “Immortal Kiss was absolutely different than any other film I’ve done. I always seem to get ‘bad girl’ roles,” Parks chuckles. “It went very smoothly. I do hope to shoot another film with him.”

Nor does the vegan, body conscious and a dancer since the age of eight, have any issues appearing in her first horror film, saying, “I absolutely loved playing a vampire, and hope I’ll get to do it again. She was so classy, rich and eccentric.

On the same day as its DVD release (at the SRP of $19.99) through major retailers, fans can view Immortal Kiss: On Queen of the Night through various Video On Demand options including iTunes, Amazon,, Sony Playstation, Time Warner, Comcast, Charter, AT&T Universe, Verizon, Xbox and more.

Freak Week Returns to The Hop!

Winner of a 2011 Screamie Award
Freak Week
Returns to the Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, to petrify visitors with terrifying new attractions

LONDON, GB - October 17, 2012 - This Halloween the Hop Farm brings back Freak Week, winner of the 2011 Screamie Award for the best seasonal scare event. Following the irrefutable success of last year’s event, the Hop Farm is thrilled to introduce three new attractions to the week-long event, including a world first, to be revealed soon.

Featuring human mazes, Freak Week’s attractions lead intrepid visitors through dark, twisting labyrinths teeming with nightmare characters to make hearts both race and stop. Combined with unique theatrical special effects, the intense and fully immersive experiences will not be forgotten easily!

Raising scare tactics to the next level, Freak Week brings an element of immersive theatre into traditional Halloween entertainment. Enter The Slaughterhouse, Quarantine, The Fun House and The Underground – if you dare!

The Slaughter House
Porky's Pie Factory just outside East Peckham, Kent, was closed by hygiene inspectors in 2008 after reports that human remains were found in their pork pies- but strangely smoke has been seen coming from the factory chimney ever since. Stories and urban myths of this derelict building have been circulating for many years. Some believe it’s a human slaughter house, where victims are served in meat pies. But this is of course all just rumour. Brave visitors will find heart-stopping surprises in every chamber of this thrilling maze – will you escape the dark twisting corridors…or become the next blended and seasoned victim?

Fear Factor: 6 Stars
Warning: The Slaughter House is not suitable for visitors who suffer from claustrophobia and features strobe lighting. Features live actors and loud noises.

A deadly virus has spread across the country, embedding itself within humans and turning them into wild, frothing, rage-filled creatures with an insatiable desire for flesh. The government is struggling to contain the situation. Government Health Ministry spokesman, Derek Philips, urged the public not to panic and “to go to their nearest special quarantine medical centre to receive an anti-viral vaccine and stop the virus spreading”. It has been reported, although unverified at present, that virus reversal drugs are being tested on the undead in the same facilities.

Fear Factor: 5 Stars
Warning: This is a show and live action horror maze, containing smoke effects. This attraction is not suitable for anyone with a heart condition. Visitors will need to move quickly through the maze, so please do not enter if you are unable to lightly jog.

The Fun House
A closed children's attraction known by many as “The Fun House” has become infested with squatters. Reports are flooding in of a so called ‘gang’ from a recent carnival which toured the area having acquired the space. They have been described as aggressive and are refusing to vacate the area. In its hey day, The Fun House was an incredibly popular ultra violet attraction with a toy factory theme. Since its closure many locals have branded it as creepy and unnerving. The squatters have been given their rights and will no doubt move on in time. Staff from the attraction have been taking it in turns to hold 24 hour vigils at the location since the gang arrived and are trying to protect the public from what lurks within.

Fear Factor: 4 Stars
Warning: The Fun House is not suitable for visitors who suffer from a fear of clowns and features strobe lighting.

The Underground
An underground torture facility has been discovered in the heart of Kent, in the dark tunnels that once were part of the Lilly Hoo underground station – huge numbers of missing people from Tonbridge and Malling are thought to be inside. Lilly Hoo underground station was closed in 1947, due to traumatic damage during World War II. It was used to transfer goods and service men from Tonbridge during both world wars as well as an air raid shelter and makeshift hospital wing. Police are trying to access the facility but due to high danger are calling for further backup.

Fear Factor: 5 Stars
Warning: The Underground is not suitable for visitors who suffer from claustrophobia and features strobe lighting. This attraction is pitch black with loud noises.

Freak Week attractions are not suitable for children. Children under 10 will not be admitted. Teenagers under 15 must be supervised by an adult. Please refer to the website should you suffer from medical conditions which may be affected by special effects. Attractions feature live actors – actors will not touch you, please do not touch them.

Airborne (2012)

The passengers of flight ATL626 are in for some turbulence when several people go missing aboard the plane. Things heat up when the hijackers reveal themselves to the crowd, but no one could expect the dark forces that are truly at work at 30,000 feet! Least of all, the viewer. AIRBORNE sets itself up as a murder mystery involving international terrorists in order to deceive the audience while building towards the major plot twist that occurs midway through the flight. The problem is, the twist is so ridiculous and unfathomable that the film immediately loses all appeal. The supernatural elements at work serve no purpose being aboard the plane, making the setting completely irrelevant. As the passengers struggle in the air, a group of traffic controllers battle a secretive military operation on the ground, but considering that these characters have absolutely no impact on the outcome of the flight, they become entirely unnecessary and a waste of screen time. In addition, we are left with no identifiable heroes, but rather a range of cardboard characters for whom we care nothing. The excitement and suspense never get off the ground in this confused thriller.

Rating: 5/10.

The Raven (2012)

The Baltimore police must enlist the help of Edgar Allan Poe when a deranged madman begins staging a series of gruesome murders around the writer's most famous works in THE RAVEN! John Cusack stars as the ill-fated author, although he often lacks the strength and conviction to carry the film. This rendition of Poe seems less tortured and more focused on melodramatics and snappy retorts, though none will accuse the film of attempting to be an accurate portrayal of the man, himself. James McTeigue paints a stylish thriller that resembles the likes of FROM HELL or SLEEPY HOLLOW in its dark Gothic allure. Poe aficionados will appreciate the delicate interlacing of clues that tie several of the author's most famed stories together while piecing together the killer's grand scheme. Where THE RAVEN mainly falters is in creating any real suspense to lock us in our seats as the murders unfold. As Hollywood thrillers go, however, the somber mood and ever-widening mystery will be enough to win over most mainstream audiences.

Rating: 8/10.

This Halloween season, a new local supergroup, Audio Corsette will resurrect her as part of an R-rated, 80′s rock horror experience featuring a live show with short horror films from all over the country. Created and directed by Kevin Letourneau and written by Gregory Glenn, ‘Scary Mary and the Audio Corsette’ stars Jacyn Tremblay (JADA), Peter Tentindo (Britannica), Aaron Katz and Callie Lipton (The Dejas). "Provocative Docs" will feature three illuminating documentaries, "American Jihadist," "Dirty Pictures" and "Mind of the Demon: The Larry Linkogle Story." Though the details of his past are murky, Isa Abdullah Ali claims to have killed more than 150 people in the fight to defend his faith. in "American Jihadist." Through his own words and those of family members, psychologists and political experts, this award-winning documentary attempts to decode the social and personal influences that can lead an individual down a path to radicalism.

"Dirty Pictures" uncovers the life's work of Alexander "Sasha" Shulgin, the scientist behind more than 200 psychedelic compounds - including MDMA, more commonly known as Ecstasy. Considered to be one of the greatest chemists of the 20th century, Sasha's vast array of discoveries have had a profound impact in the field of psychedelic research, making him a subject of fascination and controversy among fellow scientists and a folk hero to recreational users of psychedelics.

Narrated by Motörhead front man Lemmy Kilmister, "Mind of the Demon" is a morbidly fascinating look into Larry Linkogle's brilliant yet haunted psyche. Through incredible archival footage and interviews with colorful characters and top dirt bike competitors, Mind of the Demon rebuilds the thrilling story of the birth of freestyle motocross. Past and present intertwine and drive Linkogle's story towards two possible conclusions: glorious comeback or nosedive into self-destruction.

Breaking Glass co-President Richard Ross said of the collections, "These box sets truly live up to their names. The Extreme Horror Collection is loaded with gore and violence and the Provocative Docs Collection is both compelling and controversial. Both sets are in beautiful collectors boxes and will make great Holiday gifts for the film lovers on your list."
