The Rohl Farms Enterprise (2013)

Independent filmmaker Cordero Roman becomes the focus of his newest feature when a series of strange occurrences transform his new documentary into a terrifying fight for survival in THE ROHL FARMS ENTERPRISE! "With real locations, real people, and real relationships, this is the realest found footage film you will ever experience." Unfortunately, these claims are all true. THE ROHL FARMS ENTERPRISE is a trial in tedium that suffers from a clear display of amateur filmmaking and inexperience. Roman and his life-long friend, Luke Rohl, take us on an uninteresting journey around the farm before the innocuous events begin to unfold in the form of mysteriously opened doors and flickering lights. There is a reason events are fictionalized on film, and left to the mundane. As a result, the viewer becomes entirely disengaged from very early on, which makes it difficult to wade through over an hour of complete inaction. This is followed by a few minor scares that borrow generously from a variety of home invasion films like THEM or THE STRANGERS, while offering nothing new or compelling to the genre. The simple act of turning on a video camera and shooting friends does not make this a film, or at least a film worth watching.

Rating: 2/10.
