Names in Horror: Joe Bob Briggs

In the 1980s, one man fought his way out of the trailer park to become the leading voice when it came to trashy exploitation and Horror movies. That man was Joe Bob Briggs, or writer and film critic John Irving Bloom to the initiated. His humorous approach to drive-in movies made him a hero to many, and a disreputable enemy to many more, especially given his penchant for reviewing films based on the number of bare breasts, the amount of blood spilled, and the quantified amount of vomit one could expect to see induced in the theaters. Briggs' works have been collected into a number of hilarious softcovers, including Joe Bob Goes to the Drive-In, and Joe Bob Goes Back to the Drive-In.
