Names in Horror: Hideo Nakata

Hideo Nakata is a premiere name in Japanese Horror, having first struck international success with the terrifying ghost picture, Ringu. Nakata would direct the film's chilling sequel, in addition to the sequel of the American remake in 2005. He is also responsible for the deeply disturbing film, Dark Water, which would also be remade in America. Nakata moved into fantasy horror with a remake to the classic ghost story, Kaidan, in 2007, and directed a spin-off to the highly popular Death Note series entitled L: Change the World.
